A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
To confirm the appointment of Ms. Linda K. Harllee to the Advisory Commission on
Sentencing.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited
as the "Advisory Commission on Sentencing Linda K. Harllee Confirmation Resolution of
1999".
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

as a member of the Advisory Commission on Sentencing, established by section 2 of the
District of Columbia Advisory Commission on Sentencing Establishment Act of 1998,
effective October 16, 1998 (D.C. Law 12-167), for a term to end 3-years from the date a
majority of the first members are sworn in.
Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this
resolution, upon its adoption, each to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
Sec. 4. This resolution has no fiscal impact.
Sec. 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

- Experience in planning and coordinating programmatic activities for youth and adults,
developing and monitoring budgets, writing proposals and grants, staff supervision, and
using computer tools. - Counselor with Master’s Degree and experience working with people of varied backgrounds

Community-Based Programs
Develop and administer two youth programs for juvenile offenders and their families.
Supervise all treatment, educational and administrative services and evaluate staff
performance. Provide leadership and direction to staff. Write and negotiate proposals.
Prepare and manage a combined annual budget exceeding $750,000.
SUPERVISORY CASE MANAGER (9/95 – 1/98), Cornell Abraxas, Supervised Home
Services Program
Coordinated and monitored youth advocacy and social services program. Managed staff
and daily program operation. Maintained interaction with funding agency. Serviced a
caseload of youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system, chronic in behavioral
problems, and in need of home-based services to assist in making the transition from
residential treatment facilities or detention centers back into the community.
PROGRAM MANAGER /PREVENTION EDUCATION COORDINATOR (8/93 – 9/95), Substance
Abuse Prevention Education Program (S.A.P.E.), DC Public Schools
Provided a comprehensive Substance Abuse Prevention Education Program to twelve (12)
District of Columbia Public Schools (Grades Pre-K through 12) and Oak Hill Youth Detention
Center Provided services including education, training, and programmatic activities
promoting local and national initiatives for students, staff, parents, and the community.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR (intern) (9/93 – 6/94), Providence Hospital, Seton
House
Developed a broad-based knowledge and understanding of substance abuse treatment models,
case management addiction and mental health counseling; facilitating individual and group
therapy sessions, and family systems.

Investigated and collected business tax liabilities and liquidated debts owed the District
